Torraspapel, the Paper of Choice for Charity Calendars

 1/25/2010

Increasing the social prestige of reading and promoting the integration of the disabled are the main goals of the Reading Calendar and INOUT Calendar

Torraspapel, part of the Lecta Group, collaborates regularly in diverse social initiatives in keeping with its mission and values of corporate social responsibility. Among these projects, noteworthy is the Company’s collaboration in the production and distribution of Calendars published by non-profit entities that promote cultural and social ends such as fomenting reading, education, and integration of persons with disabilities.

The Alonso Quijano Foundation, a private, independent, non-profit institution in Spain whose honorary presidency is held by writer and Nobel Prize winner José Saramago, publishes the Reading Calendar with the aim of contributing to the integral development of human beings through the promotion of cultural and educational initiatives, particularly those directed at encouraging reading. Its main lines of activity are: promotional reading campaigns; publication of reading material and organization of training activities in the area of reading; and international cooperation.

At the same time, Icària Iniciatives Socials, which works in favor of the integration of disabled persons, has launched a pioneering initiative in Europe: the Inout Hostel, the first European tourist complex with 96% of its staff made up of people with some kind of disability. Torraspapel supports this initiative and collaborates in the calendar for the promotion of the Inout Hostel, which has been printed on 300 Creator Silk.
