Torraspapel Creates a New Teaching Materials Kit for Graphic Arts Schools

 10/1/2006

The kit, which forms part of Torraspapel's Collaboration Project with Graphic Arts Schools, contains a wide range of material related with paper.

With the aim of assisting future professionals in their training, Torraspapel, part of the Lecta Group, has been carrying out its Collaboration Project with 29 graphic arts schools in Spain since 2002.

Every year Torraspapel's Collaboration Project benefits more than 3,500 students in various training cycles: Pre-Printing and Printing in Graphic Arts, Publishing Design and Production, and Production in Graphic Arts Industries.

Through this collaboration, the students benefit from different activities throughout the academic year, from conferences in the school itself to visits to the paper mills or participation in the Torraspapel Design Competition, which is coming up on its fourth edition.

In addition, every year Torraspapel prepares a collection of teaching materials. For the 2006-2007 academic year it has put together a Teaching Materials Kit which contains a wide range of material related with paper, including the DVDs "El proceso de fabricación del papel" (The Papermaking Process) and "La fabricación de papeles especiales" (Making Specialty Papers), the book "El papel y otros soportes de impression" (Paper and Other Printing Supports), written by Torraspapel's Head of Technical Training, José Manuel Fernández Zapico, along with numerous catalogues and leaflets that are especially practical for learning about paper.

With this initiative, Torraspapel demonstrates once again its commitment to culture and education in general, and to young talent in the graphic arts industry in particular.
